Strands From Prism Profile¶
It is very similar to Strands from Grid Profile, but instead of generating strands only on surface of the profile mesh, it generates strands inside whole volume of the profile mesh using Strands from Prism Mesh Hair Generator.
Note: This operator works best on closed profile meshes, that support 'Use Root Caps' option (Round, Circle, custom Curve based Profile). Root caps will be used as base of prism mesh, from which strands will grow from.
Location¶
Select hair object, with Profile (profile needs to support 'Use Root Caps' option) and use:
- Ctrl+Shift+H >
Strands from Prism Profile
In operator properties popup (F9) you can select if base hair mesh should be rendered in 'Wire' mode or kept it as is.
Examples¶
Basic example of using 'Strands from Prism Profile' executed on hair-card object, that used Hair System with Round Profile type. At any time you can go to base object, modify it and new generated strands will follow it
Example of using 'Strands from Prism Profile' on braid, to add more detail to it. I had to bump up strands subdivisions up to 4 to have enough resolution on them to follow braid
Parameters¶
These are the same as in Strands from Prism Mesh generator. The only extra parameter is option, in operator properties popup (F9), to select if base hair mesh should be rendered in 'Wire' or 'Solid' mode. For braid above I used Solid mode, so we can see both haircard meshes at the same time.
